Saint Peter’s Church
619 Lexington Avenue New York, NY 10022
Known as the “First Church of Jazz,” Saint Peter’s Church is an iconic Lutheran congregation in Midtown Manhattan. Renowned for its modernist architecture, it sits at the intersection of jazz, contemporary art, and social justice, hosting world-famous Jazz Vespers every Sunday since 1965 while serving the city as a sanctuary congregation and community hub.
The problem
Saint Peter’s weekly liturgical bulletins support worship services in both English and Spanish, requiring clear, accessible, and on-brand printed materials aligned with the liturgical calendar.
Although Saint Peter’s had a strong visual identity and a rich archive of historical design assets, the organization lacked the internal capacity and workflow structure to consistently produce printed materials on time. This often resulted in rushed production cycles and last-minute workarounds.
How we solved it
We immersed ourselves in Saint Peter’s visual identity and collaborated with the team to build clear production workflows tailored to each type of material. We also introduced a three-week print review process that created a more predictable and sustainable production timeline.
This approach gave the team the ability to plan, prepare, and review materials with greater clarity and consistency, significantly reducing last-minute stress while ensuring that every piece was ready in time for services and community programs.
